This is an amazing opportunity for you, our community, and the public-at-large to get a glimpse of the exceptional educational experiences offered at PHS. Guests will have the opportunity to interact with our incredible students and educators, learn about the AP and IB Programs, enjoy music from our Performing Arts Department, watch our athletic teams engage in practice and learn about being a student-athlete, explore career interests through the Pike Academies, and visit numerous booths displayed by our Pike student clubs and community partners. The PHS Astronomy Club will also be presenting free planetarium shows at 7:00, 7:30, and 8:00 p.m. This will be a truly valuable evening for the entire Pike community. We look forward to seeing you there!  </p>

The event, which begins at 8 a.m., will include a 3 Mile non-competitive family walk/run, and a 5 Mile competitive and non-competitive, a 1 mile youth run for students in grades K-8, and a Health and Fitness Fair, will begin on Zionsville Road in front of our Pike Freshman Center and follow a course designed by the experts at KLA.</p>
<p>The school with the greatest number of participants will receive $500 and a traveling spirit trophy. You may obtain a registration form from your child&#8217;s school, or sign up online at <a href="http://www.kenlongassoc.com/events/piketwp11.php">www.kenlongassoc.com</a>.</p>

<p>Recently completed bike lanes:</p>
<p>Lafayette Road from New York Street to 71st Street: Work continues on this bike lane project that will connect downtown to the northwest side of town. This will also allow someone who lives downtown to ride to Eagle Creek Park and/or all the wonderful ethnic restaurants at 38th and Lafayette Road, on bike lanes. This project is scheduled to be completed by the end of November. </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The 38th Street project from I-465 to I-65 extends into Pike Township.<br />
Michigan Road from 76th Street to Double Tree Boulevard may have restrictions as storm sewer work and the creation of a pedestrian trail is underway.<br />
Replacement of the bridge deck and railing on the 56th Street bridge over Eagle Creek is underway. Two-way traffic is being maintained in the eastbound lanes over the bridge. A partial road closure is in place on 56th Street from Dandy Trail to the Eagle Creek Golf Course.<br />
Restrictions may be in place as construction for bike lanes is underway on Lafayette Road from 71st Street to New York Street. South of 16th Street, Lafayette Road turns into North White River Parkway West Drive. This project is in Pike, Wayne, and Center Townships.<br />
Construction of a pedestrian trail on Michigan Road from Kessler Boulevard to 75th Street is underway. This project also extends into Washington Township.<br />
Curb and sidewalk work is underway on 47th Street from Georgetown Road to the cul-de-sac.<br />
Construction is underway on Terrytown Parkway from Vicksburg Road to 62nd Street.<br />
Construction is underway on Petersburg Parkway from Terrytown Parkway to Moller Road.<br />
Construction is underway on 62nd Street from Coffman Road to Cooper Road. This project also extends into Washington Township.<br />
Construction is underway at Eagle Creek Park.<br />
Pipe work is underway on Connarroe Road from 79th Street to 86th Street.<br />
Concrete work is underway on Par Drive from New August Road to Guion Road.<br />
Concrete work is underway on 59th Street from Moller Road to Guion Road. </p>
<p>Restrictions may occur as resurfacing and other related work is underway on the following streets.<br />
